Hi, and welcome to Bucket List Travel!

My love of travel started from a young age as I was lucky enough to regularly go on holidays with my family. I decided to take a gap year after finishing school and after months of saving, off I went to Namibia to do some volunteering at an animal sanctuary. This gave me the confidence to travel on my on thereafter. 

​

During University (studying Animal Biology and Behaviour), I took 5 weeks out to travel to South Africa on my own, again, volunteering with animals, this time, marine mammals. 

​

After University, I began working full time, and often shift work, but I still had the desire to travel. I took two career breaks during this time during which I traveled. The first stint I went to New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Bangkok, Cambodia and Vietnam, The second, longer stint took me around the USA (including Hawaii), Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Chile. Argentina, Brazil, The Falklands and South Georgia Islands.  My goal was to complete 30 countries by the time I was 30, which I did! 

 

I loved my job, until I had my children. I then decided that working full time shift work was not for me, and I wanted to work for myself, as my parents had done so, successfully. I realised that travel was still my passion and I wanted to use my experience to help others do so. Bucket List Travel was born!
